The Whitsunday Islands, located along the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are Australia’s take on the conventional tropical island fantasy. 74 gorgeous islands formed by peaks of drowned hills rising above the beautifully blue Coral Sea. In the Whitsundays, sailing is popular, & diving along the fish-rich coral reefs is amazing. The Phi Phi islands are a six-island archipelago, with Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh serving as the main islands. These picture-perfect islands are a 45-minute speedboat ride from either Phuket or Krabi, ideal tropical retreats in Southeast Asia. 2. Maldives

The country’s distinctive topography captivates visitors as soon as they arrive. Little jewel-like islets fringed with the whitest of soft sand, all surrounded by the clearest shallow waters imaginable. Only 200 of the islands are inhabited, with a few resorts on each atoll and others used for agriculture and industry. The Maldives is home to around 5% of the world’s reefs, which are bursting with colour thanks to the soft and hard corals that make them up. A scuba diver or snorkellers dream destination.
