Bringing you insight to travel to wonderful destinations around the world!

Best Cities

10. Marrakesh

One of the best cities to visit in 2022 is Marrakesh, or Marrakech (French spelling). It is one of the most romantic places you will see in the movies and seemingly only ever dream to travel to.

These days, it maybe more easily achieved. Consider the medina’s souqs to be a medieval-era version of a shopping mall but far more of a cultural experience than walking through Billingsgate Market!

If you want to spice up your pantry with North African spices or buy a carpet to add Moroccan-wow to your house, this magpie’s nest of treasures is honey for shop-til-you-drop aficionados. A shoppers delight!

9. Hanoi

Our most favourite of destinations with huge amounts of culture & the friendliest of people in South East Asia. Home to some of the most iconic landmarks such as Gustav Eiffel’s Long Bien Bridge, the turtle monument in the centre of Hoan Kiem Lake and the red bridge of Ngoc Son Temple. Of course, not forgetting the famous Old Quarter with its shanty looking buildings & tiny narrow alleyways offering all kinds of amazing tasty street food on every corner. Hanoi is a delight to visit and one many will be hoping for in 2022!

8. New York

Times Square, Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building…most visited of the New York attractions you may agree. But its not all you can see in this amazing vibrant metropolis. Think Crocodile Dundee fishing off his boat…then replace it with a kayak and a camera instead of sticks of dynamite & you have a winning combo to see the sights from a totally different perspective! Iconic skyscrapers, Central Park & Broadway are all on the tip of our tongue when talking about New York & make up the vast part of this city of 5 boroughs. A few days getting lost in the Big Apple is definitely worth a trip to maybe spot some of Woody Allens filming locations.

7. Salzburg

Salt Castle as the name translates, when barges transported salt on the Salzach River in the 8th century. The river being the divider of the Alt Stadt (Old City) & Neu Stadt (New City (19th century)). Rustic green steeples stand out among the city’s great structures, making it so difficult not to feel like you’re in a fairytale realm when roaming the cobblestone streets. Located on the border to Germany and with special views of the Alps, thee birth place of Mozart & of course who can forget The Sound of Music which was filmed in and around this romantic setting, and actually where the von Trapp family once lived. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and rightly so, to be added to our list.

6. Chicago

Chicago, third largest city in the United States* and built on the shores of Lake Michigan, which may give reason why it is known as the windy city!

Jazz music and 1920’s gangsters make Chicago a famous destination to get the juices flowing about what it means to visit this amazing city. It’s difficult to decide where to begin. From the soaring, glass-floored Willis Tower to Frank Gehry’s swooping silver Pritzker Pavilion, high-flying architecture can be seen everywhere.

The pavements are filled with quirky public art; you might come across an abstract Picasso monument that is not only cool to look at but also allows you to climb on it.

Don’t forget the food too, peanut-butter-and-banana-topped waffles for breakfast, Chicago style hotdogs and deep pan pizza, true American food right there? Yum!

5. Porto

Porto’s high-rise miradouros (lookouts) and trendy roof terrace bars enslave you. Jardim do Morro: a colorful tumbledown dream with soaring bell towers, extravagant baroque churches, and stately beaux arts structures. The palm-fringed, fountain-strewn gardens of Jardins do Palácio de Cristal are equally lovely. Take a dilapidated tram and trundle to the wide open ocean in Foz do Douro in minutes.

4. Seoul

Seoul can give you a 24 hour luxury and have whatever you want.  A temple visit in the morning can lead to a palace tour, followed by tea-sipping in Bukchon and gallery-hopping in Samcheong-dong. Shopping at the bustling Dongdaemun or Namdaemun night markets, partying in Hongdae or Itaewon, or singing in a self-service karaoke noraebang till dawn.

3. Amsterdam

The Dutch capital, Amsterdam, is recognised for its cultural legacy, intricate canal system, and small, sometimes leaning, buildings with gabled facades, all of which date from the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. So much to see and do in Amsterdam you are spoilt for choice. Check out The Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, which includes works by Rembrandt Grabb a bicycle, & enjoy a day out cycling, which is an important part of the city’s identity, and there are many bike trails.

2. Bangkok

Thai food on a Bangkok street is the ultimate experience when visiting Thailand. Spicy, sour, sweet, and salty basic flavors can be a potent combination. There’s perhaps no better eating venue on the planet for experimental foodies who don’t require white tablecloths. It’s also a really diversified experience, because immigration has brought every regional Thai and international cuisine to the capital.

And again, the best city to travel to in 2022 & the one you may not have been expecting…

1. London

Probably the most visited city in the world, especially by the Americans, mainly hoping to catch a glimpse of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace.

Home to James Bond, fish and chips, jellied eels & Only Fools & Horses!

With a wax museum, tower bridge, Oxford street for shopping or a trip back in history at the torture chambers of the Tower of London.

Billingsgate market, trip down Brick Lane for some wonderful Indian food or try foodie heaven at Camden market and taste food from far flung regions of the world.

Get around London by Double decker bus, tube or driven around the old town by a chatty cockney black cab driver.

Wembley Stadium for football, or Twickenham for Rugby, maybe even some strawberries and cream at Wimbledon for the tennis.

Yes folks, London has it all..Visit London in 2022.
